Crataegus Monogyna

Crataegus Monogyna, also known as common hawthorn, is a species of flowering plant in the rose family Rosaceae. It grows as a shrub or small tree up to about 10 meters (33 feet) tall that produces edible berries. It has been used in herbal medicine to manage cardiac insufficiency and help protect against heart disease (antioxidant properties), control high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Scientific studies show that hawthorn increases coronary artery blood flow, improves circulation, and lowers blood pressure.
