Acorus calamus

Acorus calamus is a species of semiaquatic, perennial, aromatic herb with creeping rhizomes which has been used as a medicinal plant in Asia for the last 2000 years. It has anti-carcinogenic activity in human lymphocytes and is used to manage abdominal (gastric) tumours. It works mainly by cutting new blood supply to the tumour (anti-angiogenic effect)
